CONDUCT OF STAFF, STUDENTS AND PARENTS/GUARDIANS
a) DH Dance Academy is committed to providing a safe and inclusive environment for all who join. Therefore, we have a zero-tolerance policy on bullying, discriminatory or abusive behaviour of any kind. Any inappropriate behaviour will result in immediate removal from the academy.
b) DH Dance Academy’s classes are taught by qualified, insured and DBS checked instructors. All tutors regularly participate in further training to ensure the highest possible standard of teaching. Appropriate physical contact is sometimes required when teaching.
a) DH Dance Academy encourages open communication regarding any queries, concerns or issues. However, we request that you do not approach teachers during class times and contact the office instead.

USE OF PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEOS
a) DH Dance Academy may use photography or videos from classes or performances on our social media or for marketing purposes. If you do not consent for you/your child’s image to be used, written and signed declaration is required.
EXAMINATIONS, SHOWS & EVENTS
a) DH Dance Academy is proud to offer many performing opportunities and encourages its students to participate in shows, workshops and events. However, these are not compulsory. Additional costs may occur.
b) DH Dance Academy is able to enter students for examinations with the RAD (Royal Academy of Dancing) and the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing). Although we encourage eligible students to participate in examinations, they are not compulsory. Students are entered for examinations at the teacher’s discretion and their decision is final. Separate information is given regarding examinations and costs at the time of consideration.
a) Students are required to wear the specified uniform for classes. Our uniform can be purchased through our My Dance Store website (https://dhd.mydancestore.co.uk/) or in at “Let’s Dance!” in Welwyn Garden City. If you have any queries regarding the uniform, please do not hesitate to ask. Students should wear comfortable clothing that is easy to move in while waiting for uniform to arrive.
b) Long hair should be neatly tied back for safety reasons. We request that hair is put in a bun for ballet if possible.
c) Jewellery (with the exception of small stud earrings) is not permitted for safety reasons. Should there be jewellery that cannot be removed (such as medical bracelets/jewellery for religious reasons) please let us know so that we can work out a safe solution.
a) Fees are invoiced for the full term and are payable by BACS or cash. We are unable to accept payment in the form of cheques. Payment may be made in two instalments if preferred. Please contact us if you would like to set up this option.
b) Fees are due within two weeks of the invoice date. Fees paid later will be subject to a 10% surcharge. If fees are not paid within 4 weeks of the invoice date, classes will be withheld, and legal action may be taken.
c) Any changes to fees will occur before the start of a new term. We will not change fees during term time and give as much notice prior to changes as possible.
WITHDRAWAL, ABSENCE & CANCELLED CLASSES
a) We require 4 weeks notice should you wish to withdraw from DH Dance Academy entirely or withdraw from one or more of your classes and ask that you let us know via email (email@example.com). If this notice period is not given, half a terms fees is due. Refunds are not given for the remainder of a terms classes if notice is given with more than 4 weeks left of a term. Once enrolled in a class a child's space is reserved in the chosen class until we have notice of cancellation/withdrawal
b) We understand that sometimes a pupils’ absence from class is unavoidable. However, we request that where possible we are given notification of any absence. Missed classes are not able to be refunded or deducted from invoices. (Refunds can only be granted at the principals’ discretion in extenuating circumstances.)
c) On the rare occasion class needs to be cancelled by DH Dance Academy due to illness, extreme weather conditions or other circumstances beyond our control, notification will be given as soon as possible. These classes will either be made up at a later date, refunded or credited off the following invoice.
Although Covid restrictions have eased significantly, we are still following a few preventative measures:
a) Staff members are vaccinated and test regularly to ensure safety of all students and parents. Should a staff member test positive for covid, you will be notified immediately and will be informed if you or your child is considered a close contact.
b) Please notify us ASAP of any tests positive for Covid. We request that if Covid is in your household your child does not attend classes, even if they are currently testing negative for the safety of all students.
c) We request that your child does not attend class if they are showing any symptoms of Covid until they have tested negative.
d) We are encouraging regular hand washing/sanitisation with hand sanitiser available at all venues. We are maintaining good ventilation and regular cleaning of props and equipment.
Your enrolment in the academy is acceptance of these terms & conditions. Terms & conditions may change from time to time. In the event of changes to the terms and conditions you will be notified.
